Aurizon has delivered some welcome news this week to local charities chosen as the recipients of funding through the latest round of their Community Giving Fund.
Just days out from Christmas, Australia’s largest rail-based transport business has provided much needed funding to charities and community groups across Australia.
Aurizon Managing Director & CEO Andrew Harding said the Company was committed to helping charities to create long-term solutions to the challenges facing our regional communities.
“We want to make a positive and lasting difference to the communities where we operate, so collaborative partnerships with charities and community groups in these regions are important,” Andrew said.
He said the number of applications for Aurizon’s grants continued to grow, demonstrating that the need for community investment was greater than ever before.
Aurizon's Community Giving Fund is a bi-annual round of cash grants. The grants of up to $20,000 each in this round will assist 18 charities with community projects aimed at delivering positive outcomes in the areas of health and wellbeing, community safety, environment and education.
