Charities across Australia have just been awarded grants of up to $20,000 in the latest round of Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund.
Aurizon Managing Director and CEO Lance Hockridge said the Company was proud to support the latest grant recipients and the meaningful work that they do in the local community.
“These community groups do a terrific job of making the communities where Aurizon operates a better place to live, and we are delighted to partner with them to deliver critical projects in our regional areas,” Mr Hockridge said.
The successful charities will use the grants to fund projects such as the Community Connections Arts Education Program in Newcastle, the Children’s Hospital Ward Redevelopment in Townsville, Alleviating Drought Hardship in Central Queensland, and Sun City Care’s Crisis Centre Beds Program in Geraldton.
Aurizon's Community Giving Fund is a bi-annual round of cash grants of up to $20,000 to eligible charity groups across Australia with programs or initiatives in safety, health and wellbeing, environment and education.
Over the past five years more than 200 worthy community groups have received grants from Aurizon, with the next round due to open for applications later this year.
