Aurizon renews coal haulage contract for Dawson and Callide Mines with Anglo American and Mitsui
Aurizon has reached agreement with the owners of the Dawson coal mine (Anglo American and Mitsui) for a new form, performance-based long term contract that renews existing haulage arrangements for the mine and with Anglo American for the Callide mine, both in Queensland.
The 10 year performance based agreement provides for haulage of significant volumes of coal, continuing the strategic partnership on the Moura rail corridor.
These contestable volumes replace Aurizon's existing contract servicing the Dawson and Callide mines, and the new contract is effective immediately.
"Anglo American and Mitsui are valued customers and Aurizon is delighted to renew its long-term relationship for the Dawson and Callide mines," said Mauro Neves, Executive Vice President of Commercial & Marketing, Aurizon.
"We understand the challenges in the current market and Aurizon has worked hard to provide a competitive, flexible contract to meet Anglo American's and Mitsui’s requirements."
