Aurizon’s Wagon Overhaul Facility is Hiring!

Aurizons Jilalan Wagon Overhaul facility currently has a vacancy for a 12-month full time Boilermaker (Wagon Maintainer II) to join the team.

This custom-built wagon overhaul facility will maximise the use of technology and specialised equipment to improve workplace safety with reductions in manual handling tasks.  As a qualified boilermaker you will work in small teams on an 8/6 roster to overhaul Aurizon’s wagon fleet. 

This role offers a unique opportunity for safety conscious, productive employees to work locally in Sarina for a top 100 ASX listed company and be home every night! 

Key responsibilities   

  • Actively contribute to Aurizon’s safety culture
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications.
  • Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems.
  • Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment performance and condition irregularities.
  • Progress the implementation and application of work practices in pursuit of ensuring continuous quality improvement.
  • Contribute to maximum machine availability by efficiently maintaining, servicing, repairing and performing approved modifications on any infrastructure machinery
  • Communicate machine maintenance requirements effectively, contributing to a team-based approach for machine operation and maintenance.

About you

You will be energetic in your approach to the role and eager to excel. You will have experience in working in a team environment and fostering a positive atmosphere in the workplace. You will be technically competent and able to contribute to the overall success of the facility. 

  • The successful applicant must hold a Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication);
  • Committed to achieving a safe and respectful workplace.
  • Substantial skills in working in a collaborative work environment.
  • Sound level of skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication.

Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as testing, references and medical is a requirement of this role. Please note this is not a FIFO/DIDO position.
