About the role:

We are looking for an Apprentice Electrical to join the Whyalla, SA team. Aurizon apprenticeships provide an opportunity to work in one of Australia's largest and most recognised companies assisting in the maintenance of the rollingstock equipment and systems.

This opportunity will see you trained in-house and gain a nationally recognised qualification. We understand our environment is unique and obtaining the qualifications for our jobs is best gained by getting that experience firsthand, by skilled Aurizon staff.

This role will see you develop strong technical and safety skills within our Bulk Central team, that will see you build a solid foundation as you are mentored by leaders in the field and supported by our Training department with opportunities beyond your trade.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to develop trade skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Follow any guidance required to ensure work is performed to company standards.
  • Actively participate in team and safety meetings, contributing to improvement initiatives.

About you:

We are eager to engage with people who have a genuine interest in their chosen trade through work experience or hobbies. You have completed or will have completed year 10 by the end of 2025.  You will be energetic in your approach to this role and excited to join or further your career in the Rail Industry.

  • Motivation to achieve individual and team goals and objectives with a willingness to actively contribute to attain results.
  • Ability to undertake an extensive training program including theory & practical components.
  • Drivers licence preferred.

Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as testing, references and medical is a requirement of this role. Please note this is not a FIFO/DIDO position.
