Exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic Operations Improvement team based at our Hexham depot.  You will lead the analysis of planning and process improvements initiatives for our Hunter Valley and South-East Queensland business.   Engaging with multiple stakeholders you will facilitate project management activities, financial & business analysis. 

  • Partner with cross functional business units to design, develop and implement operational projects.
  • Perform exploratory analysis of diverse data sets to determine operating forecasts and mode improvements and communicate those with the business.
  • Manage large scale change projects across functions and supply chains.
  • Be part of a creative team to design new ways of working to ensure Aurizon remains a sustainable business.
  • Drive and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal and external clients.
  • Drive collaboration across functions and regions to ensure consistent application of operational efficiencies.
  • Develop, manage and update analytical models and tools and present insights in business language.

 

About you: 

  • You will have 5+ years of operational experience (e.g. rostering, crew management, live run, logistics - rail specific operational experience not required).
  • Experience in developing analytical solutions for small and large data sets
  • Easily build relationships with all levels of the business.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Ability to effortlessly form partnerships, influence, and work in collaboration with stakeholders across all levels of Aurizon.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate curiosity in understanding business problems and work with teams to identify and implement innovative solutions.
  • You are confident with negotiation and management of push-back.
  • Able to work with operational and technical teams and travel to site as required.
  • Sound ability to analyse complex matters and communicate discoveries to stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
  • Ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects, initiatives, and meet deadlines and budgets.
  • PowerBI and/or R-Studio experience will be highly regarded.
