About the Role:

Aurizon’s Containerised Freight division is expanding, and we're seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a civil background to join our team. You'll play a pivotal role in building a new Perth-based rail and containerised freight terminal. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management: Organise and plan the technical aspects of civil projects, including design, preparation of user requirement specifications, and ensuring safety in design for new and altered works.
  • Design & Auditing: Oversee the design, checking, and auditing of civil systems submitted by the design team or external providers, ensuring they meet industry best practices.
  • Documentation: Prepare all necessary documentation, including user requirements, system requirements, installation procedures, and asset handover materials.
  • Safety & Standards: Ensure civil designs conform to enterprise and industry standards, contributing to the production and implementation of new standards and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate faults, develop solutions, and implement engineering fixes to enhance safety and operations.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, Program Manager, Senior Management, and other stakeholders as needed.

About You:

  • Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory. Industry-recognized certifications in Project Management is preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: You possess a high level of skill in developing technical, design, construction, and maintenance engineering solutions, with a strong focus on the application of new technology and techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Your communication abilities are top-notch, allowing you to effectively liaise with internal teams, external providers, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and trade staff during the introduction of new technologies.
  • Autonomy & Initiative: You can plan and execute professional work independently, exercising initiative and taking responsibility for project deliverables.
  • Interpersonal Skills: With strong interpersonal, written, and negotiation skills, you can consult and collaborate effectively across various levels.
  • Standards & Procedures: You are skilled in developing and implementing standards and procedures for engineering systems, ensuring compliance and best practice.
  • Design Proficiency: Your expertise in the design and checking of engineering systems is proven, and you have a track record of resolving problems to improve overall performance.
  • Financial Acumen: You have substantial experience in developing and controlling estimates, budgets, and programs, ensuring projects stay on track.
