About the role:

Join our Deployment team as a Rollingstock Defect Coordinator based in Brisbane.  You will provide a single point of contact to assist teams in relation to Rollingstock related events affecting the efficient operation of trains across the country collecting, analysing, and reporting such information to Regional Maintenance Teams so the reliability and availability of Rollingstock may be monitored and optimised.

  • Provide expert advice to Traincrew and other operational staff in the event of Rollingstock defects or incidents adversely affecting train services to minimise the effects of such incidents.
  • Work directly with the Rollingstock Regional Maintenance teams on the most effective means of rectifying or dealing with Rollingstock defects in service.
  • Attend Rollingstock Recovery Meetings to update the incident group on all fault finding undertaken and support in recovering the Rollingstock.
  • Effectively communicate with relevant maintenance departments regarding action taken and incidents reported so that they can act upon, all incidents affecting reliability and availability of Rollingstock.
  • Analyse defects, reliability and availability data using multiple technological monitoring systems to provide vital management information and provide out of hours support to Maintenance and Operational depots.
  • Create and update SAP Maintenance notifications to streamline the analysis and reporting function.
  • Assist with project work including Continuous Improvement Initiatives and general duties relating to Rollingstock reliability, availability, maintenance schedules, maintenance requirements, fault analysis, performance, depot functions etc, as required by the Leader Deployment.  

About you:

  • Must hold an Electrical or Mechanical Fitter Licence
  • Extensive knowledge of the technical, operational and maintenance aspects of locomotives or wagons and other related Rollingstock.
  • High level of analytical and conceptual skills as applied to recognition of problems, problem solving, analysing data, and drawing logical conclusions relating to the Rollingstock maintenance environment.
  • High level of technical systems knowledge including SAP, RICS, Microsoft Suite and other condition monitoring software.
  • Sound knowledge of train handling, operational aspects, and emergency response procedures.
