About the role: This is a great opportunity to join Aurizon’s Group Accounting Team as a Fixed Asset Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract.   • Fixed Asset Register: Maintain the integrity of the Group’s fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of transactions, including additions, transfers, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Data Quality: Review existing fixed asset master data and coordinate the aggregation of additional information to enhance data quality.
  • Support: Provide supporting information to finance business partners as required.
  • Reporting: Prepare and/or review fixed asset data for half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Reconciliations: Complete and/or review balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset accounts, ensuring adherence to governance and compliance standards.
  • Stock Counts: Manage the completion and reporting of rolling fixed asset stock counts.
  • Tax Data: Ensure the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of tax fixed asset data.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the continual improvement of fixed asset policies, procedures, and automation tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage stakeholder engagement and change management communications.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Finance-related tertiary qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role within a large corporate environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as a team member and build strong relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: High level of analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work to achieve results.
  • Communication: Ability to provide clear, succinct, and persuasive verbal and written information.
  • Process Improvement: Ability to challenge processes, outcomes, and priorities, and work collaboratively to achieve consensus results.
  • ERP Experience: Experience with large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
