Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Risk & Assurance: Assist in planning and delivery of safety risk and assurance activities to achieve the objectives of our enterprise safety assurance plan.
  • Safety Improvement: Contribute to the planning, design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide safety improvement activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist in the review and revision of SMS documentation to meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Data and Reporting: Support activities which monitor and maintain validity and reliability of safety data, and assist in development of periodic and ad-hoc safety reporting.  
  • Collaborative Support: Actively engage with colleagues, including Managers and Principals, to provide support, deliver key services, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the Corporate Safety team.

About you:

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years experience in an Analyst, Safety Management or Risk Advisory role.
  • Education: Formal training or equivalent experience in supporting safety audit and assurance programs and activities
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements across all Australian states. Note: Working knowledge of Rail Safety National Law is an advantage
  • Skills: Strong teamwork, stakeholder management, critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Must be able to travel interstate as needed.
