About the role:

Reporting to Aurizon’s Track Superintendent, this position will see you delivering rail infrastructure maintenance and renewal projects within Aurizon’s Yards, Terminals and Sidings located across Southern WA. As the Supervisor of a small but dedicated team, you will be given the tools and resources required to ensure the ongoing operation of Aurizon’s above rail business as well as the delivery of growth projects to meet Aurizon’s ongoing needs. Based in Kwinana, each 10/4 roster will begin and end at your home station, with travel being required to the project location whether that be locally or at one of Aurizon’s regional locations.

As an additional benefit, this role will also provide opportunities to expand your horizon by potentially working with other teams in Aurizon or in other locations across Aurizon’s national footprint. 

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee rail infrastructure maintenance work including timber/steel/concrete resleepering, rerailing, timber/concrete turnout construction, ballasting and tamping, and rail welding and grinding
  • Direct and manage a small team to achieve targets, due dates, and quality standards that meet the business standards and milestones
  • Coach, develop, and advise direct reports in developing professionally and personally
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships

About you: 

  • Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure (Mandatory)
  • Current Class C & HR Driver Licence (Mandatory)
  • Extensive experience in rail industry and civil track construction (Preferred)
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team and flexible, hardworking attitude
  • Positive attitude towards safety and understanding of importance in the workplace
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Motivated to foster a cohesive team and an inclusive culture
  • Ability and willingness to commit to travel requirements of the role
