Aurizon is looking for an outstanding and influential people leader, focused on performance and a relentless commitment to safe working.

Based out of the Jilalan (Sarina) depot you will be responsible for the management for one of Aurizon’s largest supply chain, logistics and warehousing operations, supporting the locomotive, wagon, overhaul, Pring (Bowen) maintenance facilities as well as an external maintenance customer.

About the role:

  • You will be empowered to take ownership of the rollingstock maintenance and overhaul supply chains and logistics. This includes warehouses located in both Sarina and Bowen supporting locomotive/wagon maintenance as well as complex overhaul programs.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and actively source optimised supplier solutions.
  • Provide expert advice and support relating to supply chain, materials, and logistic while delivering continuous improvement activities.
  • Champion a safety culture which promotes, creates and maintains an inclusive approach in all aspects of the operation.
  • Providing leadership and coaching to achieve customer expectations through a team driven, customer focused and commercial culture.
  • Apply conceptual and analytical skills and utilise key performance indicators to optimise delivery of services on time.

You value stakeholder engagement and collaboration and this will be key to ensure the success of the facility. In respects to the technicalities, you’ll need

  • Relevant Tertiary, Trade qualifications or demonstrated experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehousing operations (Rail Industry experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of contemporary supply chain and supplier engagement processes.
  • Well-developed safety management skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively engage team members, establish and sustain relationships, set clear direction and provide coaching.
  • You will be energetic in your approach to this role and eager to encourage your people to excel.
