About the role:

Aurizon is currently looking for a qualified Mechanical Tradesperson (Locomotive Maintainer) to join our Willowburn maintenance depot in Toowoomba. Working on Diesel Locomotives within a well organised workshop this is a great opportunity to be part of a stable organisation that values both its people and safety alike. Working a rotating roster, you will get the unique experience to work on our locomotive fleet and have great work / life balance.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing complex troubleshooting, fault rectification duties, repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance procedures on rollingstock.
• Supervising, mentoring, and assisting the development of apprentices and Locomotive Maintainers.
• Utilising and inputting accurate data into information and Maintenance Management Systems.
• Assisting with the implementation and development of quality improvements in the area to enhance customer service.

About you

• Must hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Candidates from heavy industry maintenance background highly regarded.
• High level skill in trouble shooting, fault rectification & preventative maintenance of rollingstock.
• Adequate level of skill in interpreting technical instructions and drawings
• Sound computer literacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
