About the role:

Aurizon is offering an exciting opportunity for a Principal Financial Analyst to join the recently established Finance Partnering Containerised Freight team in Brisbane.

As a Principal Analyst you will:

  • Partner with the Business unit teams to provide comprehensive analysis and insights, that will assist the enterprise in achieving its strategic, financial and commercial objectives.
  • Develop, maintain and update financial models that support commercial negotiations, pricing and capital submissions ensuring alignment with governance requirements and processes.
  • Assist with the development and presentation of business cases, reports and analysis for a range of stakeholders
  • Development strong relationships with stakeholders in order to effectively partner and work collaboratively with the business
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of business operations, and the quality of financial information and advice that is provided to the Containerised Freight Business Unit.

About you: 

The successful candidate will utilise their strong stakeholder engagement, modelling, data analytics and communications skills to assist senior managers make critical business decisions and drive productivity improvement initiatives.

  • Tertiary qualification is mandatory with preferred degrees in accounting, finance, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working within the logistics, resources / mining industries or professional services
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a curious mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly assess and prioritise tasks in a fast-moving environment
