Aurizon Port Services can cater to any storage and handling requirements for containers, break bulk cargo, heavy machinery, palletised freight and bulk products on a long or short term basis.

We offer some of the region’s largest warehouses situated at, and within close proximity to the Port of Townsville, including:

• total warehouse capacity of 12,000 sq/m under cover at the Port of Townsville
• a 50,000 sq/m secure site hard stand area and quarantine approved wash bay, approximately one kilometre from the Port of Townsville

Stevedoring

At Aurizon Port Services we understand the importance of efficient and consistent stevedoring services to ensuring the long-term success of your business. With a long-term reputation for maintaining a high standard of regulatory compliance and safety, our experienced and skilled 'gang' ensure your complex, hazardous, oversized or specialised cargo is in safe hands.

Using our innovative equipment and highly experienced people, Aurizon Port Services handles tonnes of cargo at the Port of Townsville annually, which includes overseeing the loading and unloading of:

• copper, lead and zinc concentrate
• fertilizer
• cement
• bulka bags
• stock feed
• containers
• vehicles
• heavy equipment
• specialised project cargo

We are also committed to the continuous improvement of our services to improve cost and time efficiencies for your business, which includes investing in new technology and equipment.

This includes procuring the region’s first Liebherr Mobile Shore Crane, located at Berth 10 at the Port of Townsville. With a lifting capability of 104 tonnes per lift, the crane provides greater flexibility and efficiency in the stevedoring of a broad range of cargo.

The introduction of our rotating container devices, or ‘Rotainer’ has also improved the efficiency of our stevedoring operations. Attached to a crane, the rotainer lifts purpose built containers deep into the cargo hold of a ship and rotates them until all of the bulk material has been emptied into the hold. The empty container is returned to the upright position and placed back on the wharf ready to be carted off for reloading.

Customs

Our team at Aurizon Port Services are highly experienced in providing a seamless end-to-end supply chain management solution, including obtaining customs clearances.

We can co-ordinate all necessary documentation and checks to obtain customs clearance including:

• receiving transit orders
• opening transit records
• processing customs declarations
• 24hr surveillance and security
• submitting customs applications
• obtaining warrants of release
• storing cargo ‘under bond’ until duties are paid
• arranging end-to-end logistics and transport

We hold a Customs Depot License 1.1 and are a Quarantine approved import and export registered establishment.

Quarantine

We can assist you to ensure inbound and outbound product meets Australian quarantine specifications including:
