The Mt Isa Line Integrated (MILI) Freighter is Aurizon’s new freight solution between Townsville and Mt Isa.
If you’re a small, medium, or large enterprise in North Queensland looking for an efficient and affordable rail service between Mt Isa and Townsville — choose the MILI Freighter. Our MILI Freighter delivers containerised products for your business — door to door or terminal to terminal.
The freighter service plays a pivotal role in Aurizon’s supply chain capabilities in North West Queensland, supporting customer supply chain needs or providing linehaul services for customers with their own first and last mile solutions.
We welcome customers big and small. The versatility of the MILI Freighter means that one or 100 containers can now travel on rail. If your goods are containerised, send it on the MILI Freighter.
The MILI Freighter can also be used as a linehaul only service. Simply drop your containers off at either Mt Isa or Townsville and collect at your destination. If a bespoke supply chain solution is required, simply choose from the suite of add-on services or contact our team of logistics professionals by submitting an enquiry form.

Minimum spend (including lifts)
20’ $1,400 (excluding GST)
40’ $2,600 (excluding GST)
Empty containers return free to origin.
Prices as of April 2022, subject to change. Fuel surcharge may also be applicable, please contact Aurizon for the prevailing surcharge.
Service frequency
Up to two services per week.
Weekend services
All customers must have delivered freight to the terminal
by 1600 Thursday.
Mid-week services
All customers must have delivered freight to the terminal
by 1200 Monday.
