Latest recipients of Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund announced
Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund to support a number of charities delivering programs to communities where it operates
As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting and engaging with the local community, Aurizon provides much needed financial assistance to community organisations through its Community Giving Fund.
Andrew Harding, Managing Director & CEO of Aurizon said he was pleased to announce the latest recipients of this year’s funding.
“In this round, we are delighted to award 16 grants to local charities who are all delivering very meaningful projects and initiatives in our local communities,” said Mr Harding.
“Clearly, the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for all of our communities in recent months, so it is great to be able to support these projects during these trying times.
“In particular, we are pleased to support quite a number of charities delivering programs under the Health & Wellbeing and Community Safety categories.
“A number of the initiatives focus on Community Safety, including the installation of lighting at patient accommodation to ensure people are safe at night when moving between the hospital and their accommodation.
“Some of the Health & Wellbeing initiatives include supporting mental health programs, an example being the use of funding to help with the delivery of workshops to support the mental health and wellbeing of teenagers, especially during times of change such as now with COVID-19.
“Thank you to all the schools, community organisations and community groups that took the time to apply.”
