We are seeking an experienced Safety Partner to join our Safety, Health, Environment & Learning team, supporting our Bulk Haulage and Terminal Operations teams to deliver against Aurizon’s contracts at Murrin Murrin Operation. This is a unique opportunity to work across both Mine and Rail environments, partnering closely with leaders to drive safety performance in high-risk environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Safety Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, translating strategy into practical, field-based outcomes. You will drive safety performance through strong partnering, assurance, and continuous improvement disciplines.

This role will be on an 8:6 roster arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to implement safety initiatives aligned to organisational and project objectives
  • Provide practical safety advice, coaching and support to operational teams
  • Support leaders in building a strong safety and wellbeing culture
  • Facilitate and track safety action plans and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring compliance with safety change management processes
  • Undertake safety governance activities and monitor compliance with legislative and company requirements
  • Conduct frontline audits and provide SHE assurance and due diligence support
  • Participate in, and where required lead, incident and event investigations
  • Prepare safety reports for internal and external stakeholders

About You

You are a proactive and confident safety professional with experience working in high-risk, operational environments, and you are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Mandatory / Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in safety management within a high-risk industry
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
  • ICAM Investigation Training (preferred)
  • Auditor qualifications (preferred)

  • Experience delivering safety-related projects
  • Ability to manage complexity and work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
