Facilities Safety, Security & Compliance Advisor
Location: Any major Aurizon site across Australia
Keep Aurizon safe, secure and compliant – right across the country.
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Facilities Safety, Security & Compliance Advisor to help drive safety, security and compliance outcomes across Aurizon’s national footprint. You will be assessing and advising on regulatory compliance in construction and facilities maintenance through to physical security risks, giving you a key role in keeping our sites and people safe.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing specialist advice on facilities safety, contractor management, compliance and physical security issues.
- Supporting construction and maintenance activities to ensure they meet various regulatory obligations such as fire, electrical, plumbing and WHS.
- Advising leaders on site safety risks and supporting them to respond to emerging threats and incidents.
- Assisting with assurance activities and contributing to safety governance improvements.
- Undertaking research and analysis of security risks and events across our sites.
- Promoting continuous improvement and helping embed a strong compliance culture across the business.
- Travelling to key Aurizon sites as required (minimal but national scope).
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years’ experience in a safety advisory or compliance role – essential.
- Working knowledge of WHS legislation and construction safety principles.
- Experience dealing with physical security concerns, including break-ins, theft or unauthorised access.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and advise at all levels.
- Familiarity with contractor safety management frameworks and safety systems (preferred).
- A collaborative, practical approach with strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
