Aurizon are seeking a Business Analyst for an 8 – 12 month temporary contract. The role involves providing analytical insight and reporting on the infrastructure capacity of the rail network working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify customer solutions and support strategic infrastructure investment decisions.

Preferred candidates will have knowledge of rail operations, heavy haul freight, or network infrastructure businesses, as well as technical skills using relevant planning software applications, strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

About the role:

  • Understand and operate infrastructure modelling software to support the identification and assessment of customer and strategic investment solutions and opportunities.
  • Analysis, interpretation, and reporting of network performance and collaborating with internal and external operational teams.
  • Prepare and present reports, complete with probable causes/solutions and supporting commentary.

About you: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience in relevant positions i.e., Capacity modelling, logistics planning, scheduling or control.
  • Inquisitive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage and work across functions to gather, interpret, and model information to support business deliverables.
  • Demonstrated high level experience with complex software applications.
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and make recommendations.
