Aurizon is seeking an experienced Performance Analyst on an 8-12 month contract to join our Customer, Strategy & Infrastructure team. This dynamic role is essential in providing analytical insight and reporting on the infrastructure capacity of our rail network. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will identify data-driven solutions that support strategic infrastructure investments and enhance network performance.

We are looking for an inquisitive, data-focused analyst with a passion for tackling complex problems and digesting big data to provide clear, actionable strategies. While experience in rail operations, heavy haul freight, or network infrastructure businesses is preferred, it is not essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse, interpret, and report on network performance metrics, collaborating with operational teams to drive informed decisions.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations and supporting data analysis.
  • Operate infrastructure modelling software to support customer solutions and strategic investment opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the network and recommend innovative strategies.

About You:

  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience in capacity modelling, logistics planning, scheduling, or control.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience handling and interpreting large, complex data sets.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally to gather, model, and interpret data, supporting key business deliverables.
  • Software Proficiency: High-level experience with advanced software applications, particularly those used in infrastructure modelling.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities and deliver strategic recommendations.
