About the role:

Join a high performing team of civil and track engineering and design specialists in this Senior Track Engineer role within our Civil Engineering Unit. Working on a multitude of projects across the CQCN you will produce Civil and track designs to Aurizon standards to maintain track capability.

  • Organise and plan the technical aspects of highly complex civil projects including the design and preparation of user requirement specifications, material and component specifications, safety in design requirements for new and altered works.
  • Design, checking and auditing of highly complex rail infrastructure systems submitted by design team and or external providers.
  • Organise and prepare the associated documentation, user requirements, system requirements, installation procedures, verification and validation, testing and commissioning, asset handover, type approval, maintenance procedures for civil/ rail infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate the design of projects including liaison with stakeholders.
  • Develop budgets and programmes for civil/ track engineering projects and maintain control to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

About you:

To be part of this successful team you will have a strong background in Track Engineering, Design and Standards. You are a passionate influencer who has the ability to network at all levels.

  • Tertiary Qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in Civil & Track Design, including track structure rating, track materials, wheel / rail interface and speed and alignment design.
  • RPEQ preferred or ability to obtain within 12months
  • Substantial skills in conducting and leading inquiries, special investigations and audits
  • Ability to prioritise activities and practice good time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Proven commitment to safety with a focus on teamwork and quality
