About the role:

Based in Darwin, this role reports to the Port Services Superintendent. We are looking for someone who is an experienced port operator with strong analytical skills, and a strong commitment to safety and customer outcomes. This role will be responsible for all planning, executing, and liaising in operational activities and customer interfaces at the Port to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient operational network while maintaining stakeholder, customer relationships for all operations.

You will:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the end-to-end operational requirements.
  • Liaise with operators and all other relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding capacity plans, scheduling, approvals and infrastructure works for the purpose of maximising capacity.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers at an operational/logistics level to determine improvements in our service offering.
  • Prepare, review and distribute daily and weekly customer reports.
  • Provide a revenue protection function by checking of inwards and outwards freight rates and applying necessary adjustments as required and implementing correct freight debits to customer revenue stream.
  • Maintain Aurizon performance reporting for the precinct ensuring Customer obligations is achieved.
  • Apply conceptual and analytical skills to enhance and optimise delivery of services on time and maximise capacity utilisation by driving productivity and process improvements to meet the agreed performance and customer service standards.
  • Supervise and assist local incident management and undertake investigations as they arise within the operational environments.

About you:

  • You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification, or extensive relevant industry experience
  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Sound verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment 
  • Demonstratable ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills.
  • Possess a high level of interpersonal skills and communication skills, written and oral.
  • Knowledge of stevedoring operations.
