About the role:

We are seeking a self motivated and customer focused commercial professional to work within our Aurizon Network Customer team. You will be well versed in your customers’ contracts and their day-to-day operations to best respond to their requirements. As the key contact for your customer, you will assist with the negotiation and management of contractual arrangements to support rail access to the Central Queensland rail network and seek value add opportunities for them and Aurizon Network.  You will be constantly learning and have the opportunity to work with every part of the business to provide mutually beneficial outcomes for your customers and Aurizon Network. Working with Aurizon Network’s customers, you will:

  • Develop, enhance and maintain trusted customer relationships.
  • Draft and manage all commercial documents between Aurizon Network and the customers within your portfolio.
  • Management of customer infrastructure project enquiries and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Anticipate customer needs and negotiate positive outcomes.
  • Develop, refine and execute account management plans and engagement strategies.
  • Communicate customer requirements, issues and opportunities within the business.
  • Build and maintain exceptional relationships across all functions in Aurizon to foster the flow of customer information and feedback.

About you:

Together with another team member, you will report to one of our Customer Account Managers and be responsible for a small portfolio of customers. You will have experience in either a commercial, customer/client facing, or contract management/administration role.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Financial literacy and commercial acumen with the capacity to analyse data for problem solving (data collection, organisation, analysis, interpretation, presentation).
  • Contract/legal drafting and contract management skills.
  • Customer centric mindset with high level skills in the identification, specification and delivery of customer service in a large commercial organisation
  • Experience in an infrastructure, utility or rail logistics business, and / or exposure to a regulated commercial environment will be highly regarded.
